Find Your District Voting Information

Olmsted County has seven commissioners elected from seven separate districts of the county. I am the commissioner from District 5 (see map of district boundaries) If you're not sure which district you live in, who your commissioner is, or where you vote you can find out using the Polling Place Finder from the Minnesota Secretary of State's website by:

  1. Entering your zip code and clicking 'go'

  2. Then your house number and street address and clicking 'go'

  3. It will then tell you the following:

    • County Commissioner District

    • Township

    • Polling Place

    • School District

    • Legislative Districts

Primary Election

Voting for offices having more than two candidates to decide who is eligible for General election.

Tuesday Nov 2, 2020

General Election

Voting for all offices.

Eligibility to Vote

You are eligible to vote in Minnesota if you are:

  • At least 18 years or older

  • A citizen of the United States

  • A resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days before Election Day

  • Have the right to vote because, if you have been convicted of a felony, your felony sentence has expired (been completed) or you have been discharged from your sentence

  • Are not under a guardianship in which the court order revokes the right to vote

  • Are not legally incompetent

Time off Work to Vote

Every employee who is eligible to vote in an election has the right to be absent from work for the purpose of voting during the morning of the day of that election, without penalty or deduction from salary or wages because of the absence.
